Science

At Aldwickbury, our science curriculum encourages curiosity and builds a strong understanding of the world around us. Through hands-on experiments, pupils learn to observe carefully, think critically and communicate their findings with confidence.

Our science curriculum is delivered by specialist teachers supported by a dedicated technician. With state-of-the-art laboratories, pupils benefit from a dynamic learning environment both in and beyond the classroom. Weekly science clubs, engaging trips, guest speakers and an annual STEAM Week all provide additional opportunities to deepen interest and understanding.

We aim to ignite a lifelong passion for science in our pupils. Through regular assessment and supportive teaching, they develop a strong scientific foundation that fuels curiosity, builds a love of learning and prepares them for GCSE and beyond.

“Leaders place high emphasis on developing pupils’ skills and knowledge in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Effective use is made of a purpose-built facility which helps create an engaging learning environment where pupils can develop their understanding, having all main resources close to hand.”

and using evidence to draw conclusions. From their earliest years, they learn to handle scientific equipment confidently and work collaboratively on investigations. As they progress, they gain experience across the core disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics, developing a secure understanding of key concepts and how they apply to the world around them. This strong foundation helps pupils approach science with enthusiasm, independence and a growing sense of intellectual curiosity.
