At Aldwickbury, we believe consistent routines and positive interactions help pupils feel secure, supported, and confident to grow at their own pace. Every part of the school day has a carefully considered structure, tailored to meet the needs of children at different stages of their development.
We balance purposeful learning with space to play, rest and explore personal interests. With class sizes capped at 16 in Pre-Prep and 18 from Year 3 onwards, every child receives the attention and support they need to thrive.
Our extended school day reflects our boarding heritage and gives pupils time to do more. A strong academic curriculum is balanced with daily sport, dedicated prep sessions to complete homework and a rich programme of co-curricular activities, all built into the school day. This structure supports wellbeing and allows evenings to be spent with family.
From Reception through to Year 8, each part of the school is carefully designed to meet children’s developmental needs. We embrace change and continue to lead with forward-thinking education that prepares pupils for the future. With clear routines, excellent pastoral care and space to grow, children build confidence, character and independence every step of the way.
Daily Routine Tailored to the Needs of Each Year Group
Lunch is staggered to suit the needs of each year group, with our Pre-Prep dining first, Junior pupils second, followed by Middle and Senior pupils.
Middle and Senior pupils are provided with printed copies of their timetable at the start of each term, helping them build independence and responsibility.
The daily timetable is designed so pupils leave feeling accomplished and prepared for the next day. While extra-curricular clubs expand their learning beyond the classroom, our wraparound care options provide invaluable support for busy families.
Wraparound Care
We appreciate how busy family life can be, so Aldwickbury provides flexible wraparound care designed to support both parents and children. Our friendly Breakfast Club and After School Club offer a calm and familiar environment for pupils to begin and end their day.
These extended care options give families extra flexibility while ensuring children stay happy, engaged and well cared for throughout.
Extra-Curricular Activities
At Aldwickbury, extra-curricular activities play a vital role in each child’s holistic development. With over 60 clubs each week, pupils can explore a wide range of interests from chess, robotics and LAMDA to climbing, fencing and triathlon. These opportunities are seamlessly integrated throughout the school day, before school, during breaks and after hours, encouraging pupils to try new things, build confidence and actively engage in school life.
