A huge congratulations to Year 8 pupils, William, Charles, and Elijah, for their incredible success at the Rotary Youth Speaks Regional Debating Championships in Norwich. After triumphing in the district and county rounds, the boys were crowned Regional Champions.
Debating the contentious issue of Capital Punishment, they demonstrated intellect, confidence, and presence, delivering both the support and opposition argument with skill and precision. The judges were particularly impressed with their ability to articulate arguments and respond confidently to questions from the floor. They also scooped individual awards for best Chair and opposing argument.
While the boys’ performance was outstanding, special credit must also go to Mr Booth, Head of Latin, whose dedication continues to ignite a passion for debating within the Aldwickbury community.
