Over £5900 Raised for Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust

Earlier this term we were delighted to welcome Hayley and Esme representatives from the Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust into one of our assemblies to receive a cheque of £5980.41 from Aldwickbury Friends Association (AFA). During the course of year, AFA has carried out a number of fundraising initiatives to support the boys’ chosen charity for 2022/2023, most notably holding their annual Bazaar In May of this year.

Lesley Davies, Chief Executive of Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust said, “A huge thank you from everyone at Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust for your wonderful donation. We were thrilled to be chosen as your charity this year and to hear about how you raised the money with bake sales, discos and the AFA Summer Bazaar! Your donation will help us to create a wilder Hertfordshire – looking after our Nature Reserves, protecting wildlife across the county and encouraging everyone to stand up for nature. It will really make a difference. Thank you!”

A considerable amount of time and effort goes into planning events like the AFA Summer Bazaar and we’re very grateful to the whole Aldwickbury community for coming together to make the day so special. It was an event filled with many fun activities that all ages enjoyed, from the Pre-Prep to the parents, grandparents and staff. We are very grateful to the Aldwickbury team, parents and businesses who generously donated toys, books, cakes, fantastic raffle prizes and gave up their time to support the event. Whether that involved manning a stall, being part of the Human Fruit Machine or getting soaking wet in the stocks. The Year 8 boys even designed games for their very own stalls. This allowed them to explore their creativity and have independence at the Bazaar that they can be proud of!

We are thrilled with how the event turned out and even prouder that the money goes to a great cause.
