In 2013 the first edition of the Brian Gilyead Memorial Race took place to raise funds for the British Lung Foundation and to commemorate Brian and his commitment to Aldwickbury and especially skiing for over 30 years. Six further editions took place before covid brought a pause of 2 years. It was fantastic to be able to run the race once again last week and to welcome 24 Aldwickbury boys from Year 3-8 as well as Abbots Hill girls, siblings and 6 Aldwickbury Old Boys.
Among current Aldwickbury boys the results were as follows:
Year 3-6 – Winner Olly B, 2nd Ethan D, 3rd Ben I
Year 7-8 – Winner Tom Cleveland, 2nd Harry E 3rd Greig G
Overall (all Old Boys) Winner Benedict Godley, 2nd Sam Frost, 3rd Ed Loucaides.
Thanks to all those who came along and supported the event
