Aldwickbury School embraces five-day digital detox for Safer Internet Week

,

In February, Aldwickbury School embraced a digital detox as part of Safer Internet Week 2025, an inspiring initiative that brought the school community together to reflect on the way we use technology in our everyday lives.

From 7th-12th February, pupils and staff voluntarily switched off their phones, tablets, and other devices for five days (including over a weekend!) of screen-free living. The goal? To press pause, reconnect with the world around us and explore how we can continue to build healthier habits in the digital age.

Mr Symes says: “Technology is an incredible tool, but it’s essential that young people learn how to use it in a balanced and responsible way. This digital detox is a great opportunity for our pupils to step back, reflect and enjoy being present in the moment. I’m really proud of how our pupils have embraced this challenge and that it has ignited positive conversations amongst families.”

Aldwickbury’s digital detox is one of the many ways that we support our pupils in developing the confidence and awareness they need to use technology safely, responsibly and thoughtfully, both in school and in their everyday lives.
