Our Year 8 boys were delighted to deliver 481 kg of supplies to the local Foodbank. This week we received a confirmation from the St Albans & District Foodbank that our donation equated to 1146 meals which will make a real difference to local people in crisis.
During the term as part of their Future Thinking Community lessons the boys collected donations including tinned food, long life juices and cleaning supplies from different donation points across the school for the Foodbank. The boys were amazed by everyone’s generosity and one week they decided to focus donations on sweeter foods like biscuits and desserts. The boys carefully organised all the donations and made a note of the different items received before the donation was given to the Foodbank.
The Foodbank collection has helped the boys to learn about the valuable work Foodbanks do across the country. We would also like to say a huge thank you to all of our parents who generously supported the boys project.
