Welcome to Aldwickbury

Welcome from Danielle,
Head of Admissions
We are very much looking forward to welcoming you and your family to the Aldwickbury community.
This page brings together the key information you will need in preparation for your child starting at Aldwickbury. You will find everything needed to ensure a smooth start, including the forms that must be completed, details of our communication channels and how to access the Parent Portal to help you to become more familiar with Aldwickbury.
Please read through the information carefully and ensure that all required forms are completed prior to your child’s first day.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am happy to help and support you as you prepare for your child’s start at Aldwickbury.

Forms
At Aldwickbury, the care and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority. To help us ensure we have accurate and up-to-date information, we ask that you please complete the required forms at your earliest convenience.

Parent Portal
You will have hopefully already received an email with information on how to log into our Parents’ Portal on the school website. Here you can find lots of useful information including:
- Aldwickbury Friends Association (AFA)
- School & Staff Email Addresses
- Breakfast, Early Start & After School Club
- Extra-Curricular Clubs
- Parent Guides
- Uniform Guides
- Catering Provision and Menus
- Spelling Lists

Drama, LAMDA and Music (From Year 2)
Drama Club costs £14.50 per session and we aim to run 10 sessions per term. Full details and the sign-up form are available on the Drama Club page on the Parent Portal.
LAMDA is an assessment-based activity, whereas After School Drama Club is an experiential process-based activity with no examinations. Both provisions essentially extend your child’s drama education and provide performance opportunities. LAMDA allows pupils to formally assess their performance and communication skills while receiving focused tuition. Sign up on the Parent Portal.
Music tuition is available in all string, brass and woodwind instruments, as well as piano, guitar, singing and percussion. If your child wishes to start music tuition please see all the details and sign-up using the form on the Music Tuition page on the Parent Portal.

Splaat Photography
Aldwickbury works with Splaat Photo for our photos and videos. Individual, class and team photographs and candid shots are taken throughout the year along with videos of all school performances. Photos of your child are then made available in an individual account for you to view.
Utilising the latest facial recognition technology, Splaat ensure that only photographs that feature your child will be delivered into your secure online gallery.
For Splaat to commence taking photos and videos of your child following the initial individual photography session (which we ask them to do for our own records), they ask that you complete the Splaat Consent Form.
Once Splaat has the images of all the new children, you will be emailed a link to your account. Splaat has undertaken a GDPR compliance review and provided us with a Data Protection Impact Assessment. They also have a Privacy Policy for you to review should you wish to.
School Communications
SchoolPost
We use SchoolPost to make admin and communications easy for parents. You will receive key communications via email every Tuesday and the newsletter every Friday. We occasionally send text messages too. An account will be set-up for you following your child’s start date.
Involve, WisePay & Edulink
Currently, we use Involve, WisePay and Edulink. These platforms allow parents to book and pay for extra-curricular activities and events, as well as view timetables, attendance, achievements, school reports and book Parents’ Evenings. WisePay and Edulink are in the process of being phased out, and in time all functionalities will sit within Involve. Accounts will be set-up for you following your child’s start date. If you need to arrange after-school care for their first week, we will be happy to organise this for you.
Classlist
The Aldwickbury Friends Association (AFA) uses Classlist, a parent communication app that helps families stay informed about AFA news, events and activities. Consent for sharing your contact details with AFA is provided through the Data Collection Consent Form. Once your consent has been confirmed, we will share your contact details with AFA who will enrol you on the platform.
See You Soon
We look forward to welcoming you back to Aldwickbury School soon. Please let us know if you have any questions and we’ll be more than happy to help.
