Future Thinking

Aldwickbury's Future Thinking lessons are designed to equip boys with a set of skills that will enable them to enter an ever-changing future with confidence. As a subject we aspire to prepare the boys for jobs that have not yet been created, for technologies that have not yet been invented, and to solve problems that have not yet been anticipated. To navigate through such uncertainty the boys will need to develop curiosity, imagination, resilience and self-regulation; they will need to respect and appreciate the ideas, perspectives and values of others; and they will need to cope with challenge.

Incorporating a blend of traditional subjects and contemporary activities, our exciting Future Thinking curriculum now encompasses a diverse range of experiences tailored to foster the development of essential 21st-century skills. From robotics and progamming to mental health training and outdoor learning, boys at Aldwickbury School engage in activities that stimulate critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication—fundamental skills identified by leading organisations and educational experts as crucial for success.

The curriculum is divided evenly between 6 strands:
