ISI Report 2022

Our Personal, Social, Health, Citizenship and Economic Education (PSHCEE) curriculum at Aldwickbury is designed to ensure the boys develop essential life skills and a strong sense of social responsibility.

We are passionate about equipping the boys with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the complexities of the modern world. PSHCEE goes beyond traditional academic subjects, addressing important topics such as mental health, relationships, financial literacy and citizenship.

Within dedicated PSHCEE lessons we explore a range of topics that are designed to:

  • Develop an understanding of our Aldwickbury Values, helping boys to develop these values as their own.
  • Encourage boys to be sensitive to their environment and to have an understanding of the Fundamental British Values.
  • Develop a respect for different cultures and relationships.
  • Develop the boys' skills relating to personal safety, discussion, debating and decision making.
  • Give the boys a greater understanding of the world around them.
  • Encourage boys to develop informed opinions and attitudes for themselves.
  • Enable every boy to feel confident as a valued member of the school community.
  • Contribute to the boy’s process of growing up, and his preparation for moving to Senior School.

There is so much more to PSHCEE than what is covered in the classroom. We believe in fostering a culture of respect, empathy and understanding within our school community, preparing boys to make informed decisions and to contribute positively to society.

Beyond the classroom the boys benefit from workshops, guest speakers and community engagement projects all grounded in the dedicated lessons and the Jigsaw programme.
