Art
The Art curriculum at Aldwickbury is designed to immerse the boys in exciting visual art concepts and techniques. Lessons are embedded in an understanding of art history and its great masters across cultures and time. The boys are encouraged to explore different styles and approaches inspired by creatives, professionals, trips to galleries and artist workshops. All age groups will have a rich experience both inside and outside Aldwickbury through the creative arts.
They will learn to;
- Draw
- Paint
- Photograph using a DSLR camera
- Sculpt in clay
- Digitally manipulate photography
Teaching and learning is focused on developing skills the boys can take with them to senior school and beyond, ensuring they feel empowered to create and problem solve when challenged in the future. Those boys with a particular interest in the subject will be encouraged and supported while they develop their own portfolio of work.
We have some talented artists at Aldwickbury and their work is proudly represented in annual competitions, onsite exhibitions and on social media.
