Another busy week has flown by here in the Pre-Prep. Year 2 continue to be busy creating their own non-fiction books complete with glossaries, title pages (including author details) and superb illustrations. Topics include dinosaurs, the Great Fire of London and goldfish. I can’t wait to read the finished products.
Year 1 have been learning about measures using hand spans, cubes, rulers and metre sticks. Great fun has been had creating families of play dough worms which have then been compared for size and duly measured. The boys have become experts at explaining why hand spans are not a reliable unit of measure!
The Reception boys have continued to enjoy The Going on a Bear Hunt story, thinking about their senses and having a go at retelling the story in their own words and pictures. Their obvious enjoyment of this story and the related activities is wonderful to see.
