Young Shakespeare Company

On Friday March 11 Year 6 welcomed the Young Shakespeare Company to do a workshop on Midsummer Night's Dream which is their English topic at the moment. The actors told the story, acting the main parts and many of the boys took individual parts and all the boys were part of the scene setting and general play. The highlight of the morning was 'Pyramus and Thisbe', a play within the main play which had everyone laughing. This was a great opportunity for the boys to learn Shakespeare and has been much discussed in lessons. All have been able to understand and retell the p lot of the play.

Before half term the boys in Year 6 had been writing their own versions of the Just So Stories. They used their ICT lessons to type them up and also drew pictures to accompany their stories. These were made into books (one can be seen in the front hall.)

At the end of last week the three Year 6 groups visited the Pre-Prep to read their stories to the Reception and Year 1 boys. Everyone enjoyed the activity and each of those classes was given a copy of the book to enjoy in the future. Many of the Year 6 boys were reminiscing about when they had been in the Pre-Prep.
