YEAR 8 TO FLATFORD MILL
The Year 8’s went away for the annual visit to Flatford Mill to help them complete their river study project as part of their geography Common Entrance exam. A wet Sunday afternoon saw the group depart for Suffolk and within two hours of arrival the boys were hard at work on their projects. (What fun!!) The boys were staying Willy Lott’s house which was made famous as the building in John Constable’s ‘Haywain’ painting. The boys then spent the next two days collecting data and starting to write up their projects. In addition, the boys did a navigation exercise in the local area and some pond dipping to look at invertebrates as part of their science course. The boys are to be congratulated on their attitude and behaviour while on the geography trip this week. There were a number of very positive comments from visitors and staff about their approach and behaviour while away.
