The Boarders take to the stage

Thursday 9th December 2010

In previous news items we have said how proud we are of the drama at Aldwickbury, well the Boarders’ Christmas Show always adds another dimension to this area of the arts here. Whilst the Head of Drama isn’t invited to contribute to the evening she might be impressed with the improvisation and creative thinking of the boys! With Year 6 taking to the stage for the first time the assembled audience were kept amused throughout the evening. The highlight as always was the hot seat but with the addition of the staff’s version of the popular tv programme the Cube a good variety of acts were performed. The grand finale was the matrons’ song which must be a strong contender for the best ever heard at Aldwickbury.

Sing-a-long with the following words to the tune of Jingle Bells.

“Dashing through the school

To the boarding house we stay

All the grounds we have

So much room to play

We can go for a swim

Or even do some craft

No matter what we do

We can always have a laugh

Aldwickbury, Aldwickbury

Boarding all the way

Oh what fun it is we have

In the boarding house each day

Aldwickbury Aldwickbury

Boarding’s where we stay

Oh what fun it is to board

The Aldwickbury way”

And of course there are further verses!
