Skydiving and terminal velocity!

 

Last night may have seen the inaugural meeting of the Aldwickbury Skydiving Club. Mr Jules Hoult, Head of Physics from Uppingham School had the senior boys and their parents clutching firming to the edge of their seats as he explained the thrills, excitements and technical details of this extreme hobby. Alongside stomach turning video clips of falls over the Arizona dessert, Peterborough and Spain he skilfully blended in how physics can be applied to ‘everyday’ life events! With only one of the assembled dressed appropriately for such a talk the boys came away enthused for their science lessons and ready to find more scarey clips on Youtube!
