Senior Football Teams Tour the South Coast

1st, 2nd and 3rd XI Football Tour to Eastbourne
Just before half-term 37 senior boys and 4 staff headed south for our annual football tour on the south coast. We were once again blessed with some lovely weather and the boys enjoyed playing in some excellent football matches. They even found time on the Friday morning to brush up on their history as they visited Battle Abbey where they were given a tour and a short lecture. Other activities included ten-pin bowling and a shopping spree around Eastbourne's impressive indoor shopping centre.
Both the 1st and 2nd XI teams were unbeaten on the tour, each gaining a win and a draw. On the Saturday afternoon the 1st XI was particularly impressive in the second half at Holmewood House, running out 4-1 winners. This followed what may well be the match of the season against St Andrew's on Friday where we were 1-0 down at half-time, but then dominated the second half by playing some really attractive football. The final score was 1-1, and we really could have won it before the final whistle.
The 3rd XI enjoyed both of their matches, but in two close games, results were not in our favour.
Well done to all of the boys who took part in this tour.
