Runners-up at the Merchant Taylors’ Year 7 Maths Challenge 2011!

Last Friday saw fifteen Year 7 mathematicians compete in an afternoon of maths challenges laid on by Merchant Taylors’ School.  The first round saw the boys embark on a maths style treasure hunt around the school buildings and the beautifully maintained grounds, which looked stunning in the late autumnal sunshine.  Round two saw the boys heading for the dining hall where they faced strong competition from the other twelve schools.  It was round three which saw the boys nominate Joe P to represent Aldwickbury on the top table with the other boys competing from the team's base.  After three more rounds of tough questioning, the boys waited eagerly to hear the news that Joe had lead the team to a richly deserved 2nd place.  Even more pleasing was the excellent behaviour of our boys throughout the afternoon and the enthusiasm they showed when taking part. An excellent afternoon all round!
