Movember
A few more moustaches have been cropping up around Aldwickbury School this month. For the month of November or Movember about 10 teachers and other members of the wider Aldwickbury community, including governors and parents have been sporting the style of facial hair popularised by icons such as Wyatt Earp, Charlie Chaplin and Tom Selleck, and they aredoing this in support of prostate cancer awareness and research.
History teacher Tom Hoare, has been leading the Teachers’ Taches Team through the 30-day challenge. The results of the best Mo competition will be announced on Monday. The boys are voting for their favourite Mo from the Teachers’ Taches Team. The winner will win a luxury facial for men!
The serious point of this campaign is to raise the various issues surrounding men’s health. There has been a great deal of talk amongst the boys and staff on how best to look after themselves at age appropriate levels.
Today the whole school were enlisted to the support the teachers’ team with all boys and staff being able to purchase a moustache to wear for the day.
So far the team has raised over £1,700.
