A Very Busy week in the Games Department!
It certainly has been one! On Monday our 1st XI football team played a very strong Brentwood team in the first round of the ISFA cup. This is a school with 120 boys in Year 8, compared to our 29, so it really was a tough draw for us. Our boys battled superbly, displaying some true Aldwickbury values, and at half-time, at just one goal down I honestly felt that we might sneak a surprise result. However, Brentwood's greater physical strength, and some excellent football at times, saw them run out a comfortable 6-0 win. Great credit must go to our lads though. Well done!
Tuesday saw the Years 4-8 swimming squad travel to Bedford School for the first gala of the term. It was a pleasure to travel with all 47 boys and witness a most exciting gala.
On Wednesday we put out 10 football teams; the seniors playing against Aldenham, the Colts against Beechwood Park. These fixtures involved over 120 boys, with the whole of Year 6 and most of Years 7 and 8, getting an early chance to represent the school.
Thursday brought out our Year 4 boys for their football trip to Radlett, with all 46 boys getting the chance to play in a competitive match.
And we're not done yet, as on Saturday morning we have four senior teams gathering for our block fixture against Haileybury.
Well done to all of the boys (roughly 200 of them!), and staff, who have helped to organise themselves and ensure that everything went smoothly.
