A Buzz in the Pre-Prep
Friday 17th September 2010
Anyone popping into the Pre-Prep this week will have noticed what a positive buzz of activity
there is! As a bee keeper it reminds me of my hives. When the bees are busy collecting
nectar there is always a very peaceful buzzing of activity at the bottom of my garden. Here
also, there is a buzzing atmosphere of boys working and learning together.
I am sure one ‘buzz’ will be about House Teams we are introducing. There will be four teams
named after the planets Neptune, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. Each boy will be assigned to a
Team and will be working together collecting points for their teams. We will reassemble the
teams each year enabling every boy to have the opportunity to be in a different team through
out the Pre-Prep. This reinforces our Aldwickbury Value of Co- operation, (Working together) in
Pre-Prep language and leads into the Section Teams in Year 3. We will be celebrating the
total scores at our Birthday Assemblies every Friday.
A final ‘buzz’ is the sound of voices practising for our Harvest Festival on Thursday 31st
September. Sadly lack of space prevents us from inviting parents at this time. The focus this
year will be ‘Bees and Honey’ and I shall be aptly dressed in my bee keeper suit showing the
boys how an apiarist harvests the honey crop!
