The boys are all enjoying the lovely weather in France today. They have visited the Notra Dame this morning, have had a picnic lunch enjoying the wonderful views outside the Sacre-Coeur Basilica, Montmartre and are all looking forward to enjoying the traditional disco tonight.read more
Today's update from France finds the boys all happy and thoughly enjoying their trip. They spent this morning at the Stade de France before a boat trip on the Seine this afternoon followed by a visit to the Eiffel Tour. Last night they learnt how to make crepes and had a boules tournament - with some boys winning berets which they are proud to wear at all times!read more
Year 7 are having a wonderful time in France. This morning they have completed a town trail (in French!) around Brie Compte Robert as well as going round a French market. When Mr Marshall rang, they were having lunch by the river in 28 degrees! This afternoon they are going abseiling, zip-wiring and on a trapeze! Everybody is thoroughly enjoying themselves.read more
Monday 26 September saw the first Martial Arts club at Aldwickbury and by all accounts every boy who attended thoroughly enjoyed the hour long session. We are running two further taster sessions - Monday 3 October and 10 October - and then we will look to release a full course after October half-term until Christmas and hopefully beyond. Year 8 had a very good day yesterday collecting their river data. Last night they relaxed by watching a film, and today they are hard at work in the classroom starting on their projects.read more

A Very Busy week in the Games Department!
It certainly has been one! On Monday our 1st XI football team played a very strong Brentwood team in the first round of the ISFA cup. This is a school with 120 boys in Year 8, compared to our 29, so it really was a tough draw for us. With the autumn sunshine it has been a lovely week in the Pre-Prep. Several of the classes have managed to enjoy exploring our beautiful grounds, and we have even been able to take the boys on the Colts field for their lunchtime play.read more
Congratulations to the ski teams who raced in the English Schools’ qualifying race at Gosling last Sunday. The U14 and U12 A teams both won their categories and the B teams also qualified for the National Finals at Stoke on Saturday, 8 October. This is the first time we have four teams qualifying. In all 16 Aldwickbury boys have qualified.

Senior School Examinations
In the coming weeks I have appointments with many parents, mainly in the middle part of the school, to discuss future schools. This is such an important part of the educational process and I enjoy guiding parents to look at the schools which will suit their sons.

Year 7 Latin, History and Religious Studies Trip to Verulamium and St Albans Abbey
Year 7 had a day out in St Albans to retrace some the history of the town from pre-Roman times, through the Roman occupation and development to the medieval monastic settlement and the splendid Norman abbey.

Well done to all the boys who took part in our first gala of the season at Bedford. There were some excellent performances, especially from the boys in years 4 and 6 who won nearly all there races in their age group. Sunday 25 September – Kings Place – Music and Art Centre
The Big Draw's Big Splash free event for all ages, celebrating illustration and comics will be held at the Kings Place, London, from 12 noon - 5pm on Sunday 25 September. Mums’ Prayer Group
A group of mums meet once a month to pray for the boys and the school. The first meeting is on Monday 19 September in the school library at 8.30am - 9am. The dates for the rest of the term are 10 October, 14 November and 12 December. All aldwickbury parents welcome.read more
Our first Sunday "Chapel" of the year was at St Helen's Wheathampstead, where the Chapel Choir took part in the special service at 6:30pm to mark the end of the weekend Flower Festival in the Church. Congratulations to all LAMDA candidates, the results were very impressive. All passed, 8 with distinction and 15 with merit.
The Aldwickbury Plus Programme will start from Monday 12 September with Football Club for Years 6-8 the club will run from 6.30pm through to 7.30pm On Tuesday 13 September it will be golf at Aldwickbury Golf Club. Further activities will be added in the forthcoming weeks.read more
