With only just over a week to go before the end of term there is plenty happening at Aldwickbury. I look forward to seeing many of you at various productions and performances in the next ten days or so, with Pre-Prep plays, the Music Concert and, of course, the Senior School Play - there will be a great deal of talent on display!
It was disappointing to have so many matches cancelled on Wednesday due to the weather, but the hockey and rugby teams that did play all won! Our Chess and General Knowledge teams have been in action adding to the breadth of opportunities available. I am also delighted to report that Thomas R won a silver medal in the Eastern Region Under 14 Sabre Competition this weekend, he was only beaten by Aldwickbury Old Boy Oscar H. This means that Thomas has qualified for the National Finals, congratulations!
The renovation and extension of the Coach House is nearing completion, with the handover date being just before the end of this term. Over the Easter Holidays the building site will disappear and we will move into the new facilities. Whilst the building work will be complete, we do still have several elements to finish in the Art and DT areas, the final internal fittings and furnishings will be installed over the course of the summer. I know that this latest project will be a very exciting addition to our facilities, further enhancing our curriculum. The main contractors, City Square Solutions, have been a pleasure to work with, but we are all looking forward to the building site disappearing!
