Dear Parents

It has certainly been a successful start to the term!  I would like to congratulate the boys on the manner in which they have settled back into their studies. The various entrance tests have started at the top end of the school and continue for the next couple of weeks. The Senior Play has been cast and boys are beginning to learn lines and attend rehearsals. We had some good performances on the rugby and hockey pitches this week against Beechwood Park and I know that the coaches have plenty of food for thought at the start of the season. The Year 6 boys enjoyed their trip to the English National Ballet and it was good to have such positive feedback on their engagement and behaviour. Finally, the Year 7 boys excelled themselves in hosting a group of senior citizens form St Helen’s Church. The boys looked after the visitors during lunch chatting away happily over the roast beef!

It was a pleasure to welcome Owen and Andy Farrell to Assembly this morning, so that they could receive a cheque on behalf of the charity ‘Joining Jack’. The Aldwickbury Community can be proud of the fact that we were able to raise £5319.27 for such an excellent cause at our Bazaar in November.  We know that the money will be well used as research continues into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
