“Rats!” the Year 6, play proved to be an excellent way to spend an evening, and I am sure all those parents who were in the audience would agree with me. The ensemble skills, acting, singing and soloists all showcased the talent that is to be found amongst the boys. It was evident that the hard work during the term came together at the right time and the cast certainly seemed to enjoy the performance. Thanks of course go to all those who helped make it possible; to the mums who created the costumes, the Year 8 back stage crew, the band and of course Mrs Stewart and Mr Jelf for their direction.
In the classroom the Year 8 boys face a set of mock exams next week and I am sure that their hard work will pay off. Next term many of the boys will face scholarship or entrance exams therefore they will all need to ensure that the final preparation is thorough. I wish them well next week in their exams.
As always the sports department were busy this week. On Tuesday our swimmers beat Bedford Prep School in an excellent gala, I would like to congratulate all of the boys involved. Wednesday proved to be a successful afternoon on the football pitches, despite the mud! None of the eleven teams that took to the field were defeated – so well done boys. Just one large block fixture left next Wednesday and I am sure that the teams will look to round off the season in style.
