Prep (Years 3 - 8)

Welcome to Aldwickbury Prep School

Boys move from the Pre-Prep into the Prep School at the end of Year 2. During Years 3 and 4 their educational journey continues with the Junior department where they are placed in small classes under the guidance of a Form Teacher. This Teacher oversees their pastoral care and academic development and delivers many of their lessons. Additionally, the boys benefit from specialist teachers in a number of subjects including: music, drama, sports, design technology, art and French.

As boys enter Year 5 they are assigned a Form Teacher who continues to support their pastoral and academic needs, while they gain greater autonomy, navigating their way round the school to their different classes. At this stage, they experience subject-specific teachers across all disciplines.

Boys also have the opportunity to participate in a broad range of extra-curricular clubs, sports events, and flexi-boarding is available to all boys from Year 5.

In Year 6, boys are matched with a Tutor who will oversee their pastoral and academic development for the duration of their remaining years at the school.  Years 7 and 8 are special years at Aldwickbury as the boys continue to flourish, further developing their independence as learners, encounter expanded and very exciting opportunities and step into leadership roles within the school community.
