From the time a boy arrives in Reception we strive to provide him with a stimulating and varied English curriculum.

He will have the opportunity to: read a range of texts suitable to his age and ability, write using the variety of different styles and genres of writing presented to him, and perform in both formal and informal settings.

Reading is an important aspect of English education at Aldwickbury and we strive to create a culture of reading for pleasure. Our Book Clubs, Reading Lab (a buddy reading programme), weekly library lessons, professional author visits and various celebration days throughout the year help the boys to enjoy and appreciate the art of writing. We also have a series of Reading Challenges appropriate to the age and stage of each boy for them to enjoy.

By the time he leaves Aldwickbury he will be well equipped and confident to face the rigours of senior education and beyond.
