"I have loved being in AFA and made some really great friends." Current parent
AFA (Aldwickbury Friends Association) is an unincorporated charity comprising of all parents and guardians of pupils at Aldwickbury School, all staff at the school and the School's Governors.
The aim of AFA is to advance the education of boys in Aldwickbury School.
We achieve this by
- organising social, cultural and other activities to bring together all the members of AFA as well as the wider school community,
- by actively fundraising to provide facilities and equipment which support the school and advance the education of the boys at the school, and
- by supporting the school in promoting the boys' involvement with charitable fundraising.
Examples of current activities undertaken by AFA include our annual bazaar, our termly uniform sales and more frequent tuck shops, our bi-annual summer party, our termly new parent coffee mornings as well as other ad hoc events such as a pre prep film afternoon, activity days for the boys, quiz evenings and linking with nearby schools for the annual Y7/8 disco.
We have a committee of trustees which comprises of officers and general committee members, of which the current parent members are listed below. We also have dedicated AFA representatives in every year group, of which the current reps are listed below. For details of our roles please see the Committee Administration tab. To contact any member of the committee use the above email address.
If you would like to volunteer, whether as a committee member, a year rep or on an ad hoc basis, please contact us at the above email address, or speak with any of our members detailed below. We are always looking for more parent volunteers.
